Week 3: Cotton Wool Set

I completed much of much of my concept art on cotton rag paper which drinks up the ink beautifully and it got me thinking about cotton wool as a material to make the set. I found that the paper set was going to be very difficult to make well after having researched more into them.

I found this animation called I Have Your Heart, made through stop motion with paper sets. The sets looked fantastic but to create that level of intricacy in the limited time frame will be difficult for me. however it shows the potential in small hand made sets and how nice they look on camera.

Cotton wool however works very well for my story. I want the environment to be abstract, without form, like the girl. Obviously the set needs to be made of something and cotton wool will allow forms to be created but can have soft edges. Cotton wool also reacts interestingly when light, looking like snow but light form within it can look like clouds.
