Week 3: Concept Art

A short narrative of a ghost like girl coming across a blue hippogriff in a white, snowy wilderness (which will be a hand made set). She transforms into a solid character also turning yellow, so becoming real like the hippogriff. She climbs upon the creatures back and they fly off leaving a flower growing were they once stood.

Colour will be really important through out the narrative- even lack of it. I want the Hippogriff, Blu to stand out vibrantly from the rest of the scenery and the girl to be a part of it unit she becomes like the Blu

The Girl:

She is a symbol of innocents, the curious child in all of us. And she comes across a creature, at first it was an owl but my deigns changed to a Hippogriff made from an Owl and Goat. I plan to animate her in photoshop so she has to be simple but my initial sketches are always more complex and will be toned down to be animated.

Meeting Blu: 

On touching the only colourful creature in her world she becomes more detailed and formed like him and becomes colourful.

The girl and Blu fly of an in their wake leave new life from the yellow and blue mingling. This will be the last shot in the sequence with the plants growing out form the white environment. (This will be done using 2D images animated in After Effects using the puppet tool, masked reveals and other such tricks.)
