Week 2: Image reasurch for 3D set

I decided to change my idea and build a set and not film a photo real back plate. I want to create something stylised so have opted to create my own set, film that and then incorporate 2D animation into the plates.

My first port of call was shadow puppetry. It is easy to create a set this was as it uses a very simple method of cut outs and lights. This is some of my visual research which helped inspire me. I particular like the textue of the paper that comes with using technique but also how siple shapes when light well can create a whole immersive environment.

I then broadend my reasurch to paper sets. These kind of sets have the advantage of moving a camera through them where as the shadow sets are limited to a simlpe pan or zoom. Paper set has more potential for dynamic shots throughout the landscape. from this research I could start developing my story and concept art (see Visual Narrative Week 2)
